Traffic flow and road conditions


Traffic is dense on the roads in direction coast and interior.

A1 Zagreb-Split-Ploče motorway:

  • traffic is dense between Zagreb and the Bosiljevo 2 junction in both directions,
  • there are no longer delays at the Lučko and Demerje toll stations.

A7 Rijeka bypass:

  • only one road lane is free on the 26th km between the Orehovica and Škurinje junctions towards the border crossing Rupa due to a broken-down vehicle, the speed limit is reduced to 40 km/h.

DC8 Adriatic road:

  • there are occasional queues near major tourist destinations,
  • there are traffic jams on the sections Rijeka-Senj, Zadar-Šibenik, Split-Makarska and Dubrovnik-Cavtat.

During the day, high traffic volume is expected on the main roads in the direction coast and interior, especially on the motorways A1 Zagreb-Split-Ploče, A2 Zagreb-Macelj, A3 Bregana-Lipovac, A6 Rijeka-Zagreb, A7 Rupa-Diračje, on the Zagreb (A3) and Rijeka (A7) bypasses, on the motorways in Istria, on the DC1 state road and the Adriatic state road DC8 as well as on the access roads to major tourist destinations. Please adjust the driving speed to the road conditions.

The summer traffic ban on freight vehicles with the permissible maximum weight over 7.5 tonnes are in force on some roads in the coastal area on Saturdays from 4 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Sundays from 12 noon to 11 p.m. More information: https://www.hak.hr/info/korisne-informacije/zabrane-za-teretna-vozila/. There are a lot of cyclists, moped riders and motorcyclists on the roads. We kindly ask drivers to drive carefully, keep to the speed limit and be considerate to other road users.
